Education and specialist training

He graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Zagreb. After graduating he worked in an emergency medical team. He completed his specialist training in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery from 2015 to 2021 at the Clinic for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of Dubrava University Hospital (KB Dubrava), and passed the specialist examination in 2021. He also passed the European specialist examination of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and holds the title FEBOPRAS. The Croatian Medical Chamber lists him as a specialist in general surgery and a specialist in plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery.

Part of his training took place abroad: in the plastic surgery team of Beaumont, St. Joseph's and Connolly hospitals in Dublin, and at the Hand Surgery Clinic of Gentofte Hospital in Copenhagen. In Zagreb he also trained at the Lohuis-Filipović Medical Group.

Clinical work and experience

Since 2021 he has been a full-time member of staff at the Clinic for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of KB Dubrava, where he is listed among the Clinic's specialists. His areas of special interest are reconstructive and oncoplastic breast surgery, aesthetic breast and body surgery, rhinoplasty, aesthetic head and neck surgery, and hand surgery. In March 2023 he led the KB Dubrava team that, in a five-hour operation, replanted the completely severed hand of a seventeen-year-old patient.

Areas of work

Dr. Gorjanc's areas of work at Poliklinika Barbel are aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery and general surgery — face, body, breast, skin and hand. Before every procedure there is an examination at which the procedure, the type of anaesthesia and the course of recovery are agreed; if the procedure is not needed, the patient hears that at the examination. Anaesthesia during the procedure is managed by the full-time anaesthetist of Poliklinika Barbel, Dr. Dražen Matleković.

Memberships and professional development

He is a member of the Croatian Society for Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of the Croatian Medical Association and of the European society for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (FEBOPRAS). He is a co-founder of the Academy of Plastic Surgery, a professional platform for the training of doctors and for informing the public about plastic surgery. He took part in the educational event for International Breast Day (BRA Day) in Zagreb in 2022, and in 2026 he appeared on the podcast “Bez uputnice” (Net.hr and RTL) on the risks of aesthetic tourism. In 2024 he registered a doctoral dissertation topic in the field of hand tendon surgery at the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, with Assistant Professor Rade Žica, MD, PhD, as his mentor.

He is a co-author of scientific papers in plastic surgery published in peer-reviewed journals, including a paper on the surgical treatment of pressure ulcers at the Clinic for Plastic Surgery of KB Dubrava (Acta Medica Croatica, 2016), a prospective study of quality of life after oncoplastic breast procedures (The Breast Journal, 2020), a paper on SHH and AR expression in women with breast cancer (Life, 2022), a case report of an extensive liposarcoma of the thigh (Case Reports in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, 2023), a report on foot salvage with flaps after severe frostbite (Journal of Personalized Medicine, 2024) and a paper on lower leg reconstruction with a free flap (Clinics and Practice, 2026).

Book a consultation

Head nurse Martina Šereg answers messages. She will gladly answer your questions and arrange the date of your first examination.

The first examination lasts 30 to 45 minutes on average. The surgeon examines the area you are concerned about, asks about illnesses, medicines and earlier operations, and talks with you about what you expect. If a procedure is appropriate and likely to help, you receive a plan: which procedure is proposed, under which anaesthesia, what recovery looks like and what is included in the price. If a procedure is not needed, you will hear that at the examination too. What happens at the first examination?
